Back from Vacation/Ohio Review
First thank you to my good friends from Ohio for being a good sport. The Buckeye is the state tree. However, the buckeye nut cannot be eaten, so is considered rather useless. My nieces tell me there is a good use for buckeyes. Which is making necklaces, and that people make candy that look like buckeyes.
Northern Ohio has been having difficult times lately. Many industries have shut down or downsized, and school levies are being voted down. Which makes it harder to sell, and get a good price. But, makes it an excellent time to buy.
However, there is a new industry on the horizon with the planning of ethanol plants for the area. Ethanol is an alternative fuel that uses field corn to be made. There is cetainly promise there, with all the corn grown in the area, and the growing need for alternative fuels. To read about proposed ethanol plants in Ohio, click here.
Sandusky, Ohio, called "Vacation Land", is living up to its reputation. Besides Cedar Point, the well known "roller coaster capital of the world", they are becoming the indoor water park spot, with Great Wolf Lodge, Kalahari, and Castaway Bay. These indoor waterparks have hotels connected. In busy times, you may have to stay at the hotel to be able to use the waterpark, but sometimes there are day passes available. Check ahead. Several more indoor water parks are being built, or in the planning stages now. Also, Cedar Point has an 18 acre outdoor water park, with a wave pool, and don't forget the Cedar Point beach. Sandusky is also planning a marina, and condominium project for their downtown area. To read about this marina project, go to this page.
When you are tired of all the adventurous rides, get on board Miller Boat Line. You can take your car if you want. Or Jet Express, (no cars). Head to Put in Bay, also known as South Bass island on lake Erie. Put in Bay has many family attractions. You can spend a day, or a week. If you are ready to wind down, go to Axel and Harry's for the finest in relaxing, upscale cuisine. Also, there is a patio lounge, and an loft lounge. If you are there in the evening, you will enjoy entertainment by Buddy and Ruth.
For a vacation home on the island, check out this page. Or, if you are in the market for a hotel condominium at Kalahari, get your information from this link.
Hey! I guess those buckeyes aren't so useless after all.
