It's Time for the Short Sale Circus to Begin!
Okay, I'm working on getting a short sale from a particular unnamed bank. Every time in the past that I have worked on a short sale, or even called a mortgage company for any reason, I have had this problem. When I talk to someone, and they say, fax this to this number, then call me back personally,... you can never get in touch with that person again.
I thought since I was a little more experienced, that would not happen so much. Wrooong...yesterday I talked to someone about what fax number to use to send in my authorization from the homeowner to talk to the bank about their loan. They told me a fax number to send it to, then said to use the phone number I just used to talk to her to call her back, and she would go over it, and then I would be assigned a particular person in the loss mitigation department. I was suspicious about being able to talk to the same person with an 800 number, and I asked her about it. She assured me I would be able to talk to her.
Well, I called back, and the menu on the phone is different, and I never got to talk to anyone in person, and the phone gave me two additional fax numbers to send my authorization. Plus, the message that I might get an answer in 5 to 10 days. So, let the circus begin!
Haven't the banks that are left learned anything from the others who have had to vacate the mortgage scene? Are they still playing that it is a 3 ring circus, and soon as they get your attention going to one department, they switch rings, and say no you have to go to that ring, or that ring, then they will tell you to go back to ring one. Is it true that the one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing? Or is it some kind of inter company conspiracy that weeds out callers who don't persevere? And to think, in the balance of their hands, they handle something that is precious to us, our homes.
